Pima County and the Tucson Veterans Administration health system are teaming up to help vets get training and jobs.
The county Board of Supervisors has approved an agreement between its Kino Veterans Workforce Center and the Tucson VA. Under it, federal job development specialists assigned to the VA will work at the county center.
The county said it’s the first time federal staffers are joining a local agency, with the goal being better job opportunities for veterans.
The county center has programs and grants not available to veterans through the VA, according to officials.
A statement from Pima County says the agreement will be carried out with no cost to either agency.
