The Buzz for August 25, 2023
This week, The Buzz brings a look at the new season of Tapped, AZPM's podcast about water. This season features reporting by the talented staff of AZPM News, including Katya Mendoza, Paola Rodriguez, Danyelle Khmara, Summer Hom and The Buzz host Christopher Conover.
This season, the show will focus on the stories around the infrastructure we use to take water from where it would naturally go to where we want it. Stories will take listeners everywhere from far-flung tribal lands in the state's north to the housing developments that are at the center of court battles in Arizona's southeastern corner.
On the first episode of the season, host Zac Ziegler heads to the site of two dam collapses that are polar opposites in many ways and asks what these stories tell us about the condition of dams in the state and what could happen if they are not taken care of.
