Tucsonans who have a natural Christmas tree that's ready to be recycled can bring it to the city's annual TreeCycle program this week.
Alyssa Tarpley with the city's environmental and general services department says there are a few things to remember before bringing the tree to a recycling site.
"We love all the ornaments, we love how people get to personalize their trees in the festive season but please remove all ornaments, garland, please remove everything," she said.
The program also recommends neighborhood residents team up and bring more than one tree to a recycling site at a time.
"Definitely sustainability is the theme going into 2024 and we want to keep that going with our carbon emissions as well as what we are putting into the landfill," said Tarpley.
TreeCycle sites will be open through the Martin Luther King holiday weekend.
