The University of Arizona formally introduced Brent Brennan as the Wildcats' new head football coach. He'll take over for Jedd Fisch, who left for the University of Washington last weekend.

Fisch had sudden success with the Wildcats last season, leading the team to a 10-3 record and a ranking of 11th in the Associated Press poll. Brennan says he's ready for the challenge of guiding the team to greater heights.

"I just asked them to give me a chance to earn their trust and treat each other with respect, and the trust will be earned over time," he said. "I promised I'd surround them with a great coaching staff and people that care about their development and who they are as men."

The 50-year-old Brennan becomes the 31st head football coach in the history of UA.

He has ties to the football program dating back to 2000, when he worked as a graduate assistant on coach Dick Tomey's staff in Tucson.
