Arizona residents hitting the road

About 890,000 Arizonans are expected to hit the road and sky this Memorial weekend, despite inflation and gas prices.

The first long weekend of the summer is expected to see a 7% increase from 2022 in Arizona.

According to AAA we are expected to see a 7% increase from last year, with 42 million Americans traveling more than 50 miles from home.

Although 87% of Americans will travel by car, air travel is estimated to increase by 5.4% since 2019.

The holiday weekend will be the third busiest since 2000, and AAA estimated that 480,000 travelers will be in need of road side assistance.

They recommend ensuring your vehicle is in top shape before traveling and planning your trip around the peak hours of 3 p.m. and 6 p.m.
