The Sierra Vista Police Department announced a new online portal where residents can submit feedback. The department will use what the public says to help it maintain status with the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies.

The portal will allow the public to share how well the department is complying with the commission’s standards, community service engagement and overall delivery of public safety services.

The new system will help the department with their re-accreditation application. If approved next year, it would be their fourth, consecutive certification.

“The Sierra Vista Police Department is committed to a constant exploration of how to do better,” SVPD Chief of Police Adam Thrasher said in a press release. “We invite the public to share both what we do well and how we can improve with CALEA by using this new portal.”

The portal will be open year-round. To find the website, head to the city's website.
