During the hottest days of the summer, a patchwork of local organizations partner with The Salvation Army to come together and provide residents a place to just come and cool off. Once the temperature reaches 100 degrees outside these “Cooling Centers” open their doors to anyone in need. They not only provide water and shade but food, entertainment, access to clothing, and even counseling resources.
