The use of big data and machine learning has grown during the coronavirus pandemic. University of Arizona information systems professor Sudha Ram explains practical applications for contact tracing and describes how data analysis can help people avoid crowded locations when businesses reopen from COVID-19 restrictions.

Sudha Ram spoke with Leslie Tolbert, Ph. D. Regent’s professor emerita in Neuroscience at the University of Arizona.
