The Arizona Leadership Summit on Solar Energy and Economics will provide a forum for regional and national leaders to collaboratively build strategies that can strengthen Arizona’s national and global solar presence.
A wide range of experts in the field will discuss how solar energy can play a significant role in Arizona’s energy portfolio.
The Summit also will provide the opportunity to solidify the statewide collaboration that is vital for Arizona’s energy future and to establish the state as a strong competitor in the solar marketplace.
The planned outcome of the Summit will be to create a collaborative strategic action plan for Arizona, based upon the participation of all attendees. This plan will be based on the policy papers, economic report and expertise shared at the Summit, and will include specific time lines and steps necessary to secure Arizona’s solar energy future.
Speakers include:
- General Wesley K. Clark, U.S. Army Retired and former NATO Allied Supreme Commander in Europe
- Arizona Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords
- David Ozment, Energy Director at Wal-Mart
- Bryan J. Hannegan, Vice President, Environment for Electric Power Research Institute
The final session of the Summit will be moderated by Steve Inskeep, Host of NPR’s Morning Edition, who will lead a comprehensive and interactive conversation among the experts and audience members.
