Robotic space explorers have been around for a long time, but University of Arizona Systems and Industrial Engineering researcher Roberto Furfaro wants to take the concept further. He is developing ways that artificial intelligence and “deep learning” can make automated space-exploration vehicles more efficient.

Roberto Furfaro spoke with Leslie Tolbert, Ph.D Professor Emerita in Neuroscience at the University of Arizona.
