Arizona Illustrated: Wednesday

Wednesday's show focuses on education and how to improve the state's next-to-last national ranking in the field. Airs 6:30 p.m. on KUAT6/HD and 8:30 p.m. on the UA Channel.

In Focus

Arizona continues to rank 49th nationwide in education and unlikely to reverse the dubious position without a strong commitment from the state government. Kimberly Craft explores what the University of Arizona could do to expand its enrollment as all the state’s schools try to reach the national average for the precentage of adults in its population with a college degree.

Also, Bill Buckmaster sits down with University of Arizona President Robert Shelton to discuss the issues surrounding college accessibility, impacts of the state budget on education and the on-going re-organization process at the university.
