Researching new methods to recover brain tissue lost after a stroke.
Manu5/CC 4.0
A stroke victim has a window of only a few hours to save dying brain cells. University of Arizona Neurology professor Kristian Doyle is researching ways to promote healing after brain tissue is already lost due to stroke. He says the secret to recovery lies in the ability of the body's immune system to respond to stroke effects.
Kristian Doyle spoke with Leslie Tolbert, PhD, Regents Professor Emerita in Neuroscience at the University of Arizona.
