Lerua's

The historic Tucson restaurant closes its doors after 97 years in business.

For more than 30 years, the most common question at the beloved Tucson Mexican restaurant Lerua's (other than 'Can I take your order') has been: 'When are you closing?' The restaurant is located in the epicenter of the planned project to widen Broadway Boulevard, so owner Michael Hultquist has known since the 1980s his building would be demolished, but he didn't have an answer for when.

That's changed. After 97 years in business Lerua's closed its doors for the last time in early February. Now the question is: what's next?
