Dr. John Pedicone will take over as superintendent of the Tucson Unified School District in 2011. He succeeds Elizabeth Celania Fagen, who left the district this past summer to take a similar post in Colorado. Pedicone is currently on the faculty of the UA College of Education and previously served as superintendent of the Flowing Wells school district. Pedicone says he's ready for the challenges the district presents and vows to keep student achievement as his top priority.
