Arizona Governor Debate Offers Partisan Fireworks

Four candidates argue ideas and more in a televised forum.

Incumbent Republican Gov. Jan Brewer, Democrat Terry Goddard, who is currently the state’s Attorney General, Libertarian Barry Hess and Larry Gist of the Green Party all sat down at the studios of PBS affiliate KAET-TV/Phoenix, to participate in a Clean Elections Debate. Moderator Ted Simons asked about SB1070, job growth, taxes and more. The debate often became an argument over the role of government. It also included a number of arguments between Brewer and Goddard.
