Many in Tucson's business community think they are in for a strong holiday shopping season this year.

Strong economic conditions like a drop in unemployment and growth in median income has business owners positive that this year will end strong for them.

“Generally speaking, people feel like there is good wind in the economic sails for Tucson and Southern Arizona," said Tucson Metro Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Mike Varney. "People are definitely out and prepared to shop, and all of those things bode well for a great holiday season this year.”

Varney said that is good news for many retailers, many of whom make the bulk of their profits during the last month of the year.
