U.S. Rep. Raúl Grijalva and David Schweikert of Arizona are heading an effort to secure financial support from the White House for Tucson’s January 8th Memorial.
A bipartisan group of 33 members of Congress, including all nine representatives from Arizona, signed a letter addressed to President Barack Obama asking for the support, a press release from Tucson’s January 8th Memorial Foundation said.
The memorial will commemorate victims of the Jan. 8, 2011 shooting rampage in Tucson that left six dead and 13 wounded, including then-Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords.
