“I want to crash cars and ride buckin’ horses and jump off buildings,” says Cody Kiser, a professional rodeo cowboy. He’s the first rodeo spokesman for the Oral Cancer Foundation, encouraging the next generation of cowboys to make healthy choices. We caught up with Cody at the Tucson Rodeo where he finished in the money. He recently made his big-screen debut as a stuntman, doubling Bradley Cooper in the rodeo scene that opens American Sniper.
Also known as La Fiesta de los Vaqueros, the Tucson Rodeo hosts over 650 contestants that compete for half-a-million dollars in prize money. An estimated 200,000 rodeo fans come out each year to watch the pageantry of rodeo parade. It is one of Tucson’s most important and historic annual events.
