Listen:
The Let’s Vote Yes for Arizona Schools campaign raised $1.75 million before the end of 2015. The group supporting Proposition 123 said it raised the money in less than two months.
Proposition 123 is the plan proposed by Gov. Doug Ducey and passed by the legislature to increase funding for K-12 schools. It is also supposed to settle a school funding lawsuit.
The plan increases the amount of money from the state land trust that would go to education over a 10-year period.
Arizona residents will vote on Prop 123 in a May special election.
State Treasurer Jeff DeWit is an outspoken opponent of the plan. He called it fiscally irresponsible.
No campaign finance report was available for the group opposing Prop 123.
