Two Arizona public university presidents earn higher salaries than many of their peers, said an analysis by The Chronicle of Higher Education.

The typical president of a public university in the U.S. earned $428,000 this fiscal year, the organization found.

Arizona State University President Michael Crow has an annual salary of $606,200. Crow is the 31st highest paid public university president in the nation.

University of Arizona President Ann Weaver Hart also earned more than the median, at $475,000.

Hart is not however the top earner on the UA’s payroll.

Head basketball coach Sean Miller is at the top, earning more than $2.2 million, according to The Chronicle of Higher Education. The UA salary database lists his pay at $2 million, the same as head football Coach Rich Rodriguez. Several physicians on the university payroll also earn more than Hart.

She joined the university in July 2012 after holding the top administrative position at Temple University in Pennsylvania. The Arizona job came with a significant pay cut. At Temple, Hart earned $655,000 a year.
