The Sun Link streetcar is three months shy of one year in operation and it is already preparing for its one-millionth passenger.

Current ridership totals 955,000, which is ahead of projections.

According to a press release from Sun Link, the lucky one-millionth rider is expected to board in the next couple weeks and will be surprised with several gifts on board.

The streetcar modified its schedule a few months ago to better accommodate the periods of higher ridership demand and it has paid off as numbers have been better than expected.
