AZ WEEK: Innovative Domestic Violence Program Attracts Attention

Pima County Sheriff's Department works with 'Emerge!', Tucson women's, children's shelter.

Arizona Week Friday explores an innovative approach to handling domestic violence cases, being run jointly by the Pima County Sheriff's Department and Emerge, a Tucson women's and children's shelter.

On the program:

  • Sheriff's Sgt. Terry Parish, who leads the county's domestic violence task force, interviewed by Lorraine Rivera.

  • Ed Mercurio-Sakwa, CEO of Emerge! Center Against Domestic Violence, interviewed by Lorraine Rivera.

  • Forgach House, a women's shelter in Sierra Vista, where production technician Sandra Westdahl spoke with program alumna and workers.

  • The Buzz, with Lorraine Rivera debriefing Christopher Conover on the week's legislative action.
