Life in the Universe, the 2015 University of Arizona College of Science Lecture Series, explored the study of life on every level -- from how biologists define it, to the likelihood of finding it elsewhere in the universe.

This week, Gisela Telis talked with UA College of Science Dean Joaquin Ruiz about the themes that emerged from the series and the community's overwhelming response. Ruiz also reflected on the university system's duties to the public, and how bringing scientists and non-scientists together can create a more informed community and also inspire better science.
