Senate Concurrent Resolution 1009 - Campaign Finance

March 1, 2010 | AZPM

Senate Concurrent Resolution 1009 prohibits the use of tax dollars to fund a campaign for Legislature or other statewide office. The proposal comes at the same time that a federal court has struck down the matching funds portion of Arizona’s Clean Elections law. The court’s ruling is being approved. SCR 1009 is a constitutional amendment so voters must approve it.

On March 1, 2010 the full Senate approved SCR 1009 on a 16-12-1 vote.
