House Bill 2770 - Public Assistance

House Bill 2770 pertains to people who receive state assistance and what they can own. HB 2770 says that anyone receiving AHCCCS, food stamps, or some other type of aid cannot posses or buy alcohol, own a cellular phone unless it is their only phone, cannot have anything more than a basic cell phone plan or basic cable. Additionally, they must sign an affidavit that the car they own is not worth more than $5,000. HB 2770 is sponsored by 13 members of the Legislature including Tucson Representative Frank Antenori (R), David Gowan (R), and Senator Al Melvin (R).
