Cochise County Engineering Manager Brad Simmons said in a press release on Thursday that Western Technologies Inc. (WTI) will be making bores for soil testing on a portion of Kansas Settlement Road on Wednesday, September 7. The road is located about 12 miles southwest of Pearce, AZ, and 20 miles south of Willcox.
“Roadwork on Kansas Settlement Road will begin at 7:00 a.m.,” said Simmons in the press release. “The road will remain open to oncoming traffic in both directions with single lane closures at a time.”
He said that drivers will see flagmen onsite assisting traffic and will see traffic control signs displayed in the area. He added that folks should experience modest traffic delays until the work is completed near the end of the day.
Naco Highway and N. Washington Ave. will also experience delays on Thursday, September 8 for soil testing. The road work will begin atboth locations at 7:00 a.m. but the road will remain open to oncoming traffic in both directions with single lane closures at a time.
