The original sculpture of Tom Mix's horse "Tony Junior." designed by Fernando Arriola and created in 1947 by prisoners at the Arizona State Prison in Florence, sits atop a stone monument outside the Pinal County Historical Museum in Florence. It originally topped the Tom Mix Monument just off Highway 79 but was stolen and missing for years. It was recovered after a replacement sculpture had been installed on the monument, so it was attached atop a new stone pyramid outside the museum and dedicated in 1994.
