Four voting locations on the Navajo Nation faced bomb threats on Election Day from a foreign nation according to Arizona Secretary of State Adrian Fontes.
In a last-minute virtual briefing, Fontes said the threats were unsubstantiated and no locations had to close.
“We have no reason to believe that any of our voters or any of our polling places are in jeopardy. This is another, we believe, probing attack. We also have reason to believe, although I won’t get into specifics, that this comes from one of our foreign enemies, namely Russia.”
Aside from voters casting ballots, only Department of Justice officials and approved party poll watchers are allowed to be inside polling locations.
