The rates for another utility in Pima County will rise June 1, after the county Board of Supervisors Tuesday voted 3-to-2 to raise monthly rates 3 percent and institute a 3 percent increase in sewer connection fees.

For the average resident, the monthly sewer fee will rise $1.12 to $38.42.

Earlier this fiscal year, the city of Tucson’s water utility raised rates 8.4 percent, or $2.50 on the average bill, and trash collection fees by about 7 percent, or $1 on the average bill.

Tucson Electric Power in February increased rates by $8.74 a month for the average residential customer.
