COVID numbers stay steady

The number of the cases has leveled off during the summer.

The number of COVID-19 cases in Arizona continues to remain fairly steady, according to data released by the Arizona Department of Health Services on Wednesday.

The state reported 17,249 cases of COVID-19 over the last seven days.

Statewide, the number of new cases each week has been hovering between 15,000-18,000 since the end of May.

In Pima County, the number of new cases each week has been at about 2,000 cases during the same time frame.

In Cochise County, the number of cases last week dropped to 240 from a high earlier this summer of close to 400 a week.
