New Website Compares AZ Health Costs, Quality of Care

State Health Department launches database showing rates, quality scores for hospitals, side-by-side stats.

State health officials Monday launched a new online tool that will let patients and their families compare the costs and results of health care at hospitals across the state.

AZ Hospital Compare is managed by the Arizona Health Services Department and became accessible Monday morning. The searchable database will allow patients to compare the costs of specific care types like a knee replacement at hospitals in their area.

They also will be able to compare and review discharge rates and get a quality indicator score. The site uses federal and state data.
