Tucsonans Remember 9/11

Events mark 11th anniversary of terrorist attacks

Tucsonans are marking the 11th anniversary of the terrorist attacks on New York and Washington Tuesday in a variety of commemorations, ceremonies and displays.

The Tucson Fire Department held a ceremony. Listen to the highlights:

At Carrillo Magnet Intermediate School downtown, students were preparing a patriotism presentation open to the school community starting at 10 a.m.

At the Veterans Administration health Center, 3601 S. Sixth Ave., a U.S. flag display is on view all day. A flag display also is on view on the University of Arizona Mall in front of the Administration Building.

At Mountain View Retirement community, 7900 N. La Cañada Drive, residents were holding a party to honor first responders -- firefighters and police officers.
