UA Libraries’ Special Collections and the Confluencenter for Creative Inquiry collaborated with dozens of U.S.-Mexico borderlands artists, advocates, journalists and more to build a digital archive of creative projects aimed at reclaiming the border narrative, advancing migrant justice, and addressing gaps in the archival record.
Favianna Rodriguez heads the Center for Cultural Power, which took the lead on the Reclaiming the Border Narrative Project.
“Those of us who are doing this work and who are producing visual art, videos, short films, it’s very critical that this work gets documented and recorded and available for future research and future engagement,” she said.
She says it is a living archive that will help create an authentic narrative about the border region.
