METRO WEEK: CD2 Candidates Push Toward Barber Challenge

Kais, McSally, Wooten discuss immigration, federal budget issues, Social Security and Medicare in Green Valley forum.

Three Republicans seeking their party's nomination in Arizona's 2nd Congressional District race met in a Green Valley candidates' forum recently, and Metro Week was there.

The candidates' responses to three questions at the forum were compiled and aired on the program, followed by analysis from three journalists.

The questions:

  • Would you have voted for the U.S. Senate version of immigration reform passed last year?

  • How can a freshman help create a balanced budget? If cuts are necessary, what would you cut first?

  • Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security benefits will be cut in future years because they are not sustainable. Are cuts the only solution? How would you fund these programs without taking on debt?
