More often than not, those polled expressed concern about the state moving too quickly to reopen.

A new poll of 600 Arizonans by OH Predictive Insights in Phoenix shows that 52% of respondents believe the state is moving too quickly when it comes to reopening businesses.

In recent weeks, Gov. Doug Ducey has given restaurants, salons and gyms the go-ahead to reopen with certain restrictions.

The responses to the poll depend largely on how the respondent leans politically.

“Eight out of 10 Democrats are either extremely or moderately concerned about the spread of coronavirus. However, we look at independents and Republicans: Independents were at 79% last month, 66% now, so a 13 point drop there, and Republicans were at 55% and dropped to 42%,” said Mike Noble with OH Predictive.

The differences also play out geographically. Noble pointed out that those living in Pima and Maricopa counties were more likely to believe the reopening is coming too soon while those who live in rural areas felt the state should move more quickly.

The poll has a 4% margin of error.
