The Pima County Recorder’s office has received 96,729 early ballots since Monday. That means 26 percent of the more than 370,000 Pima County residents who requested early ballots have voted.

F. Ann Rodriguez, the Pima County Recorder, said that is a record number for this time in the election process.

“People are very interested in this election - not just president - you have Senate, Congress, multiple county level and legislative level, and there are some city issues, too,” said Rodriguez

In person, early voting sites are also busier than normal, according to Rodriguez.

Pima County voters can request early ballots until Oct. 28th.

Early tabulations show about 30 percent of Democratic ballots sent out have been returned and 26 percent of Republican ballots have been cast.

The majority of voters in Pima County vote early.
