Pima County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a reporter this morning while she covered a demonstration for an indefinite ceasefire in Gaza in front of Raytheon at the UA Tech Park in southeast Tucson.
Reporter Alisa Resnick, with NPR member station KJZZ in Phoenix, was arrested for criminal trespass on privately owned Raytheon property, as were 25 other people.
Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos told AZPM that deputies asked people to exit the private property several times before arresting them.
“Miss Reznick said, ‘Well my car is here,’” Nanos said. “Deputies told her, ‘Not a problem. Go get in your vehicle and just park it over there, outside the gate with all the others because there’s several reporters there as well who obliged the deputies and left that property.’ Miss Resnick still refused to do so and she was arrested.”
A video by Unicorn Riot on X, formerly known as Twitter shows Resnick, with her press badge and media equipment, as she seemed to be leaving, telling deputies that she is following their instructions and is heading to her car. A deputy responds that she remained for several more minutes as they handcuffed her.

The reporter who took the video was standing next to Reznick and was not arrested.
Deputies took the people they arrested to the sheriff department’s San Xavier District Office where they were cited and released.
