The Pima County Sheriff’s Office is offering free active shooter training to the public in light of the recent shootings in Las Vegas and Texas.

The training is based on the FBI model known as “Run, Hide, Fight.”

Officials with the Sheriff’s Office said being prepared in an active shooter situation can be the difference between life and death.

Groups, including schools and businesses, in the unincorporated parts of Pima County will get priority for the free classes.

Information is available by calling the Sheriff's Community Resources unit at 520-351-4615.
