Metro Week is a 30-minute news/public affairs TV program with two areas of focus: in-depth reporting on current topics relevant to Southern Arizonans; a week-in-review conversation with local journalists. Produced and hosted by AZPM’s Andrea Kelly, viewers will take away information they need to make personal, political and civic decisions, a deeper understanding of how government affects their lives and perspective on stories they may already be following.
News topics of relevance to Tucson and Southern Arizona drive the program. Most of the issues explored, and topics discussed, focus on government and are approached with the perspective of holding government accountable.
The program will appeal to viewers already interested in news and public affairs, and already engaged in the Friday news and public affairs programing on PBS 6. This includes the established Washington Week and Arizona Week audiences. Metro Week also seeks to attract those not otherwise engaged with such programs, but who are interested in local news, local government and high-quality journalism.
Starting June 6, Metro Week will air Fridays at 8:30 p.m. followed by Arizona Week at 9 p.m. Metro Week joins the Sunday public affairs programming block on PBS 6 at 10:30 a.m. followed by Arizona Week at 10:30 a.m. Metro Week will also broadcast on Fridays on WORLD at 11:30 p.m. and on the UA Channel at 11 p.m.
About Andrea Kelly:
Andrea Kelly began her journalism career at the Arizona Daily Star and has covered government and politics throughout her work in print, radio and television news. She graduated from the University of Arizona School of Journalism, and teaches government reporting as an adjunct instructor at the school. Her coverage has spanned local and state transportation issues, Pima County, the city of Tucson, Marana, Sahuarita and Oro Valley, plus the Arizona Legislature and state and local elections.

About Arizona Week:
The goal of Arizona Week is to take a top news story each Friday and explore it in depth by interviewing newsmakers and others with expertise. The focus of the 30-minute program is on the topics of greatest importance to Arizonans, with the mission of bringing perspective, depth, and understanding to our viewers.
Arizona Week currently broadcasts at 8:30 p.m. each Friday and will move to 9 p.m. starting June 2. The program also airs in Phoenix on Eight World, Phoenix on Fridays at 7:30 p.m.
About Lorraine Rivera:
Rivera is a veteran broadcaster having worked in the Yuma and Tucson television markets for the last decade. She is a graduate of the University of Arizona, School of Journalism with minors in English and Mexican-American Studies, and enjoys cheering on her beloved Wildcats. Rivera is product of Cochise County, born and bred along the U.S./Mexico border in Douglas.
