1070 Appeal Filed

The state is continuing the fight on 1070, hoping that an Appeals Court will reinstate much of the law.

Just 24-hours after US District Judge Susan Bolton put parts of Arizona’s immigration law on hold, the state has appealed the injunction. Governor Jan Brewer is asking the US 9th Circuit Court of Appeals to overturn Judge Bolton’s ruling. In a printed release, Governor Brewer says she wants the stay overturned allowing the law to go into effect while the courts decided the merits of the legal challenges to the law. Governor Brewer says she has no intention of backing down in this fight with the federal government.
