A Pima County Constable, an apartment manager, and two tenants are dead after a Thursday night shooting in midtown Tucson.

Tucson Police say the shooting occured when the constable and apartment manager tried to serve eviction papers against a tenant at the Lind Commons Apartments.

Just after 11:00 p.m., police were called to the complex. They found constable Deborah Martinez-Garibay and manager Angela Maria Fox-Heath dead of gunshot wounds.

Police say tenant Gavin Lee Stansell, who was the subject of the eviction, was found dead inside the apartment of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Stansell also apparently shot and killed his neighbor, Elijah Miranda.

Martinez-Garibay became a constable earlier this year after serving 16 years in the U. S. Army. Gov. Doug Ducey has ordered flags to fly at half-staff today in her honor.

The Tucson Police homicide unit is investigating, but police say there are no additional suspects. Pima County Constable Deborah Martinez-Garibay was shot and killed while serving an eviction on Thursday.

“I am heartbroken at this terrible tragedy, and I will keep Constable Martinez and all who knew and loved her in my thoughts,” said Pima County Supervisors Chair Sharon Bronson in a statement.
