Congressman Raúl Grijalva helped secure $588,000 for renovations and upgrades to the Tucson Indian Center as part of the 2023 Inflation Reduction Act.
“This will go toward the roofing and the infrastructure so that it is available and fully functional and safe and secure for at least the next 60 years,” he said.
The center has been active for 60 years already and serves about 15,000 people each year in the areas of wellness, health, employment, training, financial assistance and cultural services. The Health Services Department is one of the partners providing medical and behavioral health treatment and social services to the urban Tucson Native American community.
