In Pima County alone, nearly five thousand students were homeless at some point during the past school year. Many of those families live on the south side of town, where children attend Sunnyside Unified Schools. District superintendent Manuel Isquierdo talks about the challenges facing the 6% of the district's population who are homeless. He also talks about the impact of SB 1070 and lays out the transition to a technology-based learning environment.
