Wanted: Teachers at Tucson Unified School District

Job fair will be held Friday, district plans to hire on the spot; science, preschool in demand.

Tucson Unified School District’s website lists almost 200 teaching openings. The district is looking for science teachers, elementary teachers, preschool teachers, almost every kind of teacher.

The district is not alone. A 2015 report from the Arizona Department of Education shows more than half of surveyed districts have open teaching positions.

TUSD’s teacher job fair starts 9 a.m. Friday June 26 at Catalina Magnet High School, 3645 E. Pima St.

The district said in a press release teachers will be hired on the spot.
