Questions

Have you always been a member of your party? If not, when did you join your current party?

Keith Seaman
Keith Seaman (D) I have always been a Democrat.

Where were you born? If you were not born in Arizona, how long have you lived here?

Keith Seaman
Keith Seaman (D) Sacramento. I have lived in Arizona 48 years.

What city/community do you live in currently?

Keith Seaman
Keith Seaman (D) I live in Casa Grande, Arizona.

Why are you running for office?

Keith Seaman
Keith Seaman (D) I decided to run for this office because I couldn’t sit by and watch anymore as Arizona legislators continue to place education on the bottom of their priorities list. Education needs to be funded at appropriate levels, educators need better wages and working conditions, and the state of Arizona needs to recognize our teaching unions. When elected, I will bring forward all of these issues.

What are you top 3 priorities if elected?

Keith Seaman
Keith Seaman (D) My first priority is supporting our public education system. I believe that we need to fully fund our schools and provide them the support they need to give our children the education that they deserve. I also believe that it is imperative that we protect the mail-in ballot and fight for easy access to the polls. I also believe in prioritizing equitable access to health care. We need to lower the cost of prescription drugs and ensure that all children and seniors are provided with adequate care, which I will prioritize when I am elected.

What sets you apart from other candidates in your party's primary?

Keith Seaman
Keith Seaman (D) Although I am the only Democrat running, so I am not in a contested primary, I believe I am the best man for the job because of my experience. I have lived in Arizona for nearly 50 years and worked as a teacher, principal, superintendent, and school board member.

What is the biggest problem with the way the office you are seeking is working and how do you solve it?

Keith Seaman
Keith Seaman (D) I believe that in order to be a successful legislator, you need to be accessible to your constituents. This is especially important in a district as rapidly growing as LD-16. When elected, I will conduct town hall events to give the community an opportunity to raise important issues to me and ask questions. It is my priority to deliver the resources and information that our community needs.
